"Today we are overwhelmed with photographic images, yet this is not a new phenomenon... Photography and the infinite number of pictures it has produced has literally changed the way we see... who can deny the visual hyper-saturation we endure in our current digital age with the proliferation of social networks, zines, blogs, and such video-sharing websites as YouTube? So how do we make distinctions among all these images in which we find ourselves? What qualities do we look for in pictures that distinguish one that piques our interest from another that does not?"
