Project 3 was a reduction or suicide print. I carved an image on a woodblock and printed a single layer of color. After printing my single color background, I carved out the "sky" part of my image, leaving the mountains and the barn. On top of the blue I printed red, to make the mountains a purplish color. Next, I carved out the mountains, leaving only the barn in the foreground to be printed a darker tone of red. Last I carved out everything but what was to be the grass in the very foreground. As you can see, not much is left of my beautifully carved woodblock, but the print makes up for that.

Semester Synopsis
The spring semester of the Visual Communication class began with a subject matter that would serve as the basis for all semester projects. A series of mind maps and research brought me to my final subject matter: organic raw materials, also known as Raw Renewables.
