The clean layout and paper countries are working well.
Here is my feedback for needed improvements:
White background looks/feels ignored - what else?
Key is too large - and placed too prominently.
Overall - work on color scheme to compliment your original icon family - tan, cream, yellow. While those other hues may work (burgundy, blue, etc) the value/tone you currently have them at do not compliment/mesh well with your icons colors. Think more soft, more natural, less bright, less right out of the tube. Make sure this is carried throughout the article too.
Black and white text could be pushed as well to more natural - e.g. off white and dark brown. Also the small text looks very tight - add just a little leading.
The rings around your icons are an opportunity to connect to your icons brush style!!! Currently, the two languages are awkwardly colliding.
The transparent box needs to relate more closely to its associated icon. Also, each one (for each icon) needs to be treated, sized and placed consistently. Figure out a system that you can apply to all the same.
