My interpretation of your photograph is that you were trying to give the radio a refurbished, look. because the crisp edges and bright lighting of the body give a c l e a n feel. The view is from under which gives the radio a powerful appeal. The black background contradicts the positive mood expressed by the old radio in perfect condition; however, these two ideas together, promote a greater idea. I think the bigger message being portrayed is about untold wonders, hidden treaters, and or collected items.

Yes, my intention was to portray the the radio in both a positive and powerful way. I wanted to bring back the idea that this type of radio was once people's only source for news, entertainment etc. The black background could signify that the radio is the only thing present, and is of greater importance.
