Sound and Motion --> Project 4--> Data Presentation Description
I have begun to explore the role that convenience has in relation to cooking, especially in the latter half of the 20th century. The data presentation is an informational piece that will hopefully provoke the viewer to think about the facts and how they relate to their own habits. It is an insight into how convenience has shaped the way Americans think about and consume food, as well as giving a few reasons why they should choose to make their own food.

1. score(8) overall concept
I really learned some new things ive never thought of before like the # of microwaves and their increase in such a small amount of time. Which really cuts back on traditional cooking.
2. (8) visual form narrative
I really like the consistency between the illustrations of the imagery juxtaposed with the digital recipe card.
kinda hinting at the old style (hand) vs the new (digital).
3. (7) duration
Sometimes its to fast and other times its to slow but for the most part i have no trouble reading the information, its a lot easier also full screen i think. There is a lot going on so my eye is jumping back and forth so maybe try consistently slowing things down.
4. (7) motion form
i think the recipe cards should come in a little faster and and leave a little faster and this would give you more time for you to pause on the card. I also like how things come on one at time like all the microwaves or the food, very nice touching and visually interesting.
5. (8) transitions
I think the transitions are good in how they come on to the screen and leave the screen, nothing just appears or vanishes except the illustrations just pop off. Maybe they pop on and then fade off or move off like the recipe? But im sure you tried all of that and overall i still like how you approached it, just a thought.
6. (9) hierarchy
I think you approached this well, first the music is a good choice for presenting a list of facts the melody and the overall tempo stays the same which doesn't distract me at any time and gives me something nice to listen to. The illustrations feel to have more hierarchy than the recipe cards due to their size and color but it makes sense people will look at the imagery first and then read the text on the recipe card. It stays consistent and it is effective.
7. (8) convention
I feel that your project goes in a unique direction on putting your info onto reciepe cards because it is relevant for it is talking about food and your subject matter reflects that of your content.
Good Job.
