ooooooh, very nice, corie. these are very interesting looking, and you can push them in several directions. try exploring these questions, if you have not already:
what happens when contrast is maxed out on the letters?
what happens when contrast is lowered in some way?
how do they look when assembled into words?
what happens when you switch to a new mark-making tool (like in the soph haiku project) on the same paper?
what happens when you switch to an unusual surface, but keep the same tool and same kinds of marks?
i'm really interested in seeing how legible these are as words or phrases. keep this up!! make make make! i think you're getting somewhere for sure.
i almost forgot; the really fuzzy or blurry letters on sample two are really intriguing. letters are supposed to have discernible contours and here that idea is gone. so this might answer a question like "what happens when the positive and negative space is ambiguous?" that could be an interesting line to pursue as well.
